Woman Arrested for Indecent TikTok Content in El Bayadh

El Bayadh, Algeria – November 23, 2025 – Authorities in El Bayadh have arrested a 33-year-old woman for allegedly disseminating indecent content on the popular social media platform, TikTok. The arrest was made by the Cybercrime Unit of the El Bayadh State Security (BLCC) following an investigation into the suspect’s online activities.

According to a statement released by the El Bayadh police, the investigation was initiated after the unit discovered a TikTok account allegedly posting content that violated public decency and encouraged immoral behavior. The account reportedly featured posts and images deemed offensive and promoted actions contrary to accepted social norms.

During the operation, law enforcement apprehended the primary suspect along with her accomplice and two other individuals. The arrests followed a technical investigation conducted by judicial authorities under the supervision of the relevant prosecutor’s office.

A legal file was prepared, and the suspects were presented before the El Bayadh Court. The primary suspect received a sentence of five years imprisonment. The remaining individuals involved also received prison sentences.

This case highlights the ongoing efforts by Algerian authorities to combat the spread of inappropriate content online and uphold public morality. The use of social media platforms for illegal or unethical activities remains a key focus for law enforcement agencies across the country.

The El Bayadh police have reiterated their commitment to monitoring online platforms and taking action against individuals who violate the law by disseminating harmful or offensive material. The investigation remains ongoing.
