Prime Minister Seifi Ghrib presided over a government meeting today, Monday, focusing on critical digital and infrastructure initiatives.
The government examined a draft executive decree outlining the conditions and procedures for certifying electronic communications equipment. This measure aligns with Law No. 18-04, dated May 10, 2018, which establishes general rules for post and telecommunications. The draft aims to ensure electronic communications equipment complies with applicable standards and specifications, particularly concerning user safety and health, protection of electronic communications networks, and interoperability.
Furthermore, the government commenced the study of a draft presidential decree encompassing the national data governance system. This draft implements the President’s directives related to the national digital transformation strategy, specifically focusing on interconnectivity between various public bodies and administrations and the establishment of a national digital database. The text provides a clear, comprehensive, and practical legal framework for the national data governance system, affirming state sovereignty over data of national interest and ensuring organized, secure, and transparent management of public data.
Finally, as part of ongoing monitoring of major structured investment projects, the government received a presentation on the progress of railway project construction programs connecting Bechar and Tindouf (575 km) within the Gara Djebilet project, and between Annaba and Djebel Onk in Tebessa (422 km) within the integrated phosphate project. These projects are considered vital to the nation’s economic development.
DZWatch will continue to provide updates on these important government initiatives.
