Naftal Inaugurates Green Service Station in Tigzirt

Tigzirt, Algeria – Naftal, Algeria’s national oil company, has officially inaugurated a new green service station in Tigzirt, Tizi Ouzou province. The inauguration ceremony, held on Monday, November 24, 2025, was led by Naftal’s CEO, Djamal Cherdoud, and the Governor of Tizi Ouzou, Aboubakr Bousteh.

The newly opened station is dedicated to supplying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly known as ‘Sirghaz’. Several Naftal officials, along with local and security authorities, attended the event.

This initiative is part of Naftal’s national program to expand its network of green stations across the country. This program aims to support the national energy transition policy and promote the use of clean and environmentally friendly energy sources.

Spanning over 1000 square meters, the Tigzirt station significantly enhances the region’s energy infrastructure. It serves users of National Road 24, connecting Dellys and Azzefoun, and National Road 72, leading to Tizi Ouzou city. The facility includes a 30-cubic-meter Sirghaz storage tank, modern safety and fire prevention equipment, and green spaces reflecting the project’s environmental focus.

During the visit, officials presented a detailed overview of the winter plan for supplying butane gas to the province, overseen by Naftal’s LPG division in Tizi Ouzou. The program focuses on ensuring a regular supply of this essential resource, particularly in mountainous areas and remote villages, by increasing distribution frequency, maintaining adequate reserves, and deploying the necessary personnel and logistics to guarantee uninterrupted service throughout the winter season.

Naftal’s inauguration of the Tigzirt green station demonstrates its commitment to promoting clean energy and providing enhanced services to the Algerian people through sustainable development.
