Severe Weather Alert: Thunderstorms and Hail Expected Across Several Regions

DZWatch Exclusive: Algeria is bracing for a period of intense weather conditions, with heavy thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds expected to impact several regions across the country. According to meteorological reports, atmospheric disturbances will bring significant rainfall and potential hazards throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.

A special weather advisory indicates that locally significant thunderstorms, potentially reaching up to 50mm of rainfall, are anticipated from 10:00 AM Tuesday until 9:00 PM Wednesday. The affected provinces include Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, Medea, Boumerdes, and Bouira. There is also a possibility of scattered hail in certain areas within these regions.

A more severe weather alert has been issued for other provinces, warning of heavy thunderstorms exceeding 60mm of rainfall. This alert is in effect from midday Tuesday until at least 9:00 PM Wednesday and covers the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Setif, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf.

Furthermore, meteorological services predict additional locally significant thunderstorms for the provinces of Relizane, Mostaganem, Mascara, Oran, Ain Temouchent, Ain Defla, Mila, Constantine, and Guelma. These storms are expected to occur from 9:00 AM Tuesday until dawn on Wednesday.

A separate warning highlights the potential for strong winds in the provinces of Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf, commencing from midday today and lasting until 6:00 PM.
