Blida, Algeria – Algeria has successfully encouraged its youth to embrace entrepreneurship, according to Minister for Youth Affairs, Mustapha Hidaoui. Speaking in Blida on Tuesday evening, Hidaoui, who is also responsible for the Supreme Council for Youth, cited the emergence of tens of thousands of startups as evidence of this achievement.
“Algeria has overcome the challenge of motivating young people to enter the world of entrepreneurship,” Hidaoui stated. He emphasized the significant growth in the number of new businesses founded by young Algerians in recent years.
The Minister’s remarks highlight a concerted effort by the Algerian government to foster a more dynamic and innovative economy. By supporting young entrepreneurs, Algeria aims to create jobs, diversify its economic base, and promote sustainable growth. The success of this initiative is reflected in the substantial increase in startup activity across the country.
The Supreme Council for Youth, under Hidaoui’s guidance, plays a crucial role in developing and implementing policies that support young entrepreneurs. These policies include providing access to funding, training, and mentorship opportunities. The Council also works to create a more favorable regulatory environment for startups, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and promoting innovation.
While challenges remain, the significant progress made in recent years demonstrates Algeria’s commitment to empowering its youth and fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. The focus now shifts towards sustaining this momentum and ensuring that young entrepreneurs have the resources and support they need to thrive in the long term.
