President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may soon travel to the United States to finalize an agreement with President Donald Trump aimed at ending the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, according to a high-ranking Ukrainian official.
Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, indicated that preparations are underway for a potential visit in the coming days.
“We are looking forward to organizing a visit by the Ukrainian President to the United States at the earliest convenient date in November, to complete the final steps and conclude an agreement with President Trump,” Umerov reportedly stated.
The potential meeting follows discussions between Ukrainian officials and European allies regarding a proposed peace plan for Ukraine, reportedly put forth by President Trump. These talks, held in Geneva, resulted in modifications to the plan, according to statements from President Zelenskyy.
