Algiers, Algeria – Algeria and Egypt have agreed to bolster cooperation across key sectors of transport and port services, signaling a strengthened partnership between the two nations. The agreement was a central focus of a bilateral meeting held yesterday between Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Sayoud, and Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, Kamel Abdel Hadi.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 9th session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Committee. Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in land and rail transport, as well as modernizing port services. Both ministers presented structural developments within their respective national transport sectors, highlighting ongoing strategic projects of significant importance.
Key areas of focus included mechanisms to boost bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on developing and modernizing land and rail transport networks. The ministers also explored opportunities for exchanging expertise in expanding port networks, improving port services, and enhancing logistical capabilities. These improvements are viewed as essential drivers of economic development for both countries.
Minister Sayoud and Minister Abdel Hadi affirmed their commitment to fostering a robust strategic partnership between stakeholders and institutions operating within the transport sector. This collaboration aims to accelerate the pace of development in both Algeria and Egypt, reinforcing the strong ties between the two nations.
