Israeli military operations continue in the West Bank, with a significant escalation reported in Tubas and Jenin. For the third consecutive day, the Israeli army has maintained its presence in the Tubas governorate, following a raid on the al-Far’a refugee camp. Reports indicate that these incursions have resulted in at least 85 Palestinian injuries and numerous arrests. The area remains under strict military blockade, with all entrances sealed and a curfew imposed.
In Jenin, the situation has deteriorated further, with the Israeli army commencing the demolition of 24 structures within the refugee camp. This action has been condemned by Hamas as a ‘dangerous escalation of ethnic cleansing policies.’ The destruction of homes and infrastructure has raised serious concerns about the humanitarian impact on the civilian population.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, tensions remain high. Near Ramallah, Israeli settlers reportedly vandalized Palestinian property between Deir Jarir and Silwad. Shepherds grazing livestock near the Khan al-Ahmar area and around Mukhmas, north of Jerusalem, have also faced harassment from settlers. Reports from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission suggest that approximately 40 Bedouin communities have been displaced since the start of the conflict in Gaza, as part of what they describe as a ‘policy of restriction’ aimed at forcing the residents to leave.
In Hebron, Israeli forces prevented farmers in Tarqumia from accessing their land and allegedly assaulted farmers and journalists covering the incident with tear gas and sound bombs.
Further north, in the areas of Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, Israeli forces have reportedly begun deploying heavy machinery to prepare for military corridors, following the demolition of an estimated 2,000 housing units and the displacement of thousands of families. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) estimates that 32,000 people remain displaced, emphasizing that systematic destruction is against international law and turning camps into ghost towns.
These developments occur against the backdrop of a sustained increase in Israeli military activity in the West Bank over the past two years, marked by frequent raids, arrests, and targeted killings. These actions coincide with the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Official Palestinian figures indicate that Israeli actions in the West Bank have resulted in the deaths of over 1,083 Palestinians, with more than 11,000 injured and over 20,500 arrested since the escalation began.
