Tunis, November 28, 2025 – Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafati emphasized the enduring solidarity between Tunisia and Algeria during a meeting with a parliamentary friendship delegation from Algeria in Tunis today.
According to a statement released by the Algerian People’s National Assembly, Minister Nafati highlighted the critical importance of developing joint solutions to address challenges related to food security, energy, water resources, and climate change. He stressed that these solutions are vital for maintaining the stability and promoting the development of both nations. Minister Nafati further noted that preparations are underway for the 23rd session of the Joint High Commission, scheduled to take place in Tunis from December 9th to 12th.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister affirmed that this upcoming session would significantly enhance the existing cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia, particularly given the harmony and mutual respect between the leaders of both countries. He also spoke of Algeria’s role on the international stage and the shared aspiration of both nations to strengthen their presence and influence within the African continent.
Discussions also encompassed several regional and international issues, including efforts to reconcile opposing factions in Libya, support for the Palestinian cause, and collaboration on addressing Mediterranean issues.
During the meeting, Minister Nafati expressed his gratitude to Algeria for its support to Tunisia during the challenging health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, reiterating that Tunisia and Algeria consistently stand by each other in times of adversity. “Our two nations share a bond that transcends political and economic considerations,” he stated.
The Algerian parliamentary delegation, in turn, emphasized the necessity of leveraging the current favorable conditions to propel the partnership towards broader horizons, praising the significant role played by the foreign ministries of both countries in fostering this crucial relationship.
