Israeli Forces Injure 130 Palestinians in Tubas Raid

At least 130 Palestinians have been injured following an Israeli military operation in the Tubas Governorate in the northern occupied West Bank. The operation, which began on Wednesday, has resulted in widespread injuries and arrests, according to local sources.

Nidal Odeh, Director of Ambulance and Emergency Services in Tubas, stated that the injuries were a direct result of actions by Israeli forces. He confirmed that 66 of the injured required hospitalization, while the remaining individuals were treated on-site for their wounds.

Since Wednesday, Israeli troops have been conducting military operations in Tubas and surrounding towns, involving raids on numerous homes. Reports indicate that some of these residences have been converted into military outposts, causing significant property damage.

During the operation, Israeli forces detained 162 Palestinians from the Governorate. While most were subsequently released, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club reports that they were subjected to field interrogations and mistreatment. Dozens of homes were reportedly ransacked, with contents destroyed, and some were forcibly occupied by the Israeli military after residents were forced to leave.

While the Israeli military has stated that the operation aims to “eliminate militants,” Palestinian observers suggest there may be undisclosed objectives, including expanding settlements and pushing for the displacement of Palestinians.

In related news from Jenin, two young Palestinian men were reportedly executed by Israeli forces after surrendering. Video evidence allegedly shows Israeli soldiers surrounding a building and firing at close range on two Palestinians who emerged with their hands raised. The Israeli military has stated that a field investigation is underway, claiming the men were wanted and had been surrounded for hours before the shooting.

This incident is part of a broader escalation in the West Bank over the past two years. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 1,085 Palestinians, with nearly 11,000 others injured. Furthermore, over 20,500 Palestinians have been detained since the start of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
