The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received today, Thursday, at his ministry headquarters, the CEO of the Italian company “Eni,” Claudio Descalzi, in the presence of the CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, and officials from the ministry.
The two parties discussed the current state of cooperation and partnership between Sonatrach and the Italian company “Eni,” describing it as historical and excellent. They also explored prospects for enhancing this collaboration within the framework of the agreements signed between the two companies.
Discussions revolved around the ongoing projects between Sonatrach and “Eni” in the fields of hydrocarbons, hydrogen, and new and renewable energies, as well as investment opportunities to increase production and exports.
The Minister of Energy and Mines and the CEO of “Eni” discussed the current situation in the international natural gas market, its development, as well as business opportunities and future investment prospects between Sonatrach and the Italian company at the international level, including the electric interconnection between Algeria and Europe through Italy.
The CEO of “Eni” stated, “I am very satisfied with the partnership between Sonatrach and ‘Eni,’ expressing his keen interest in intensifying investments in Algeria and continuing to develop this partnership in preparation for launching new projects in Algeria and internationally.”
