Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Compound Under Israeli Police Protection

Dozens of settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound Sunday morning under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. The settlers entered through the Mughrabi Gate, proceeding to conduct provocative tours of the courtyards.

Witnesses reported that the settlers performed Talmudic rituals near the Dome of the Rock mosque, continuing a pattern of daily incursions into the Al-Aqsa compound. These actions are seen as highly provocative by Palestinians and Muslims worldwide.

According to sources within the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem, the settlers toured various areas within the mosque’s courtyards, receiving explanations about the alleged “Temple Mount.” They then reportedly performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern section of the mosque.

These incursions were accompanied by stringent restrictions imposed by Israeli forces on the entry of Palestinian worshippers. Many had their IDs confiscated at the gates and were denied access to the holy site.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to near-daily incursions by settlers, excluding Fridays and Saturdays, under the protection of Israeli police. These actions are viewed as part of ongoing efforts to establish full Israeli control over the mosque and to impose a temporal and spatial division, similar to what occurred at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. The increased frequency and intensity of these incursions have raised concerns about the potential for further escalation and violence.
