Air Algérie is aggressively expanding its presence across Africa, demonstrating significant growth in both fleet size and passenger numbers. Recent data indicates a substantial increase in the airline’s operational capacity and market share within the continent.
The airline is currently implementing a comprehensive fleet renewal program. In November, Air Algérie received its first next-generation aircraft, with further deliveries expected throughout the remainder of this year and into the next. This initiative aims to bolster operational efficiency, increase flight frequency, and enhance overall service quality.
Data suggests that Air Algérie currently possesses the fourth-largest fleet in Africa, comprising 56 aircraft of various types. This number is projected to rise to 66 by the end of next year, and further increase to 74 by 2027, reflecting a clear upward trajectory in the company’s growth.
Regarding passenger traffic, reports indicate that Air Algérie ranked third in Africa, transporting approximately 7.9 million passengers in a single year. This surge underscores the expanding customer base and growing commercial activity of the airline within the continent.
These reports also reveal that Air Algérie outperformed other major African carriers in terms of passenger volume, solidifying its position as a leading player in continental air transport. This achievement highlights Air Algérie’s growing competitiveness and appeal to travelers across the region.
These indicators suggest that Air Algérie is steadily progressing towards a leadership role in Africa. This is driven by a strategy focused on fleet modernization, improving the passenger experience, and expanding its network of routes, thereby strengthening air connectivity between Algeria and the rest of the African continent.
