Israeli Forces Impose Curfew, Besiege Tubas

Tubas, West Bank – Israeli forces have imposed a strict curfew and effectively besieged the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank, DZWatch has learned. The move follows an airborne deployment of infantry soldiers into two areas within the Tubas governorate.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that soldiers were deployed via helicopter into the Al-Ahrash and Sahel Tubas regions, located between the town of Aqaba and the city of Tubas itself. The operation has significantly disrupted daily life for residents.

According to local officials, Israeli forces initially withdrew from the city center, only to redeploy and subsequently seal off Tubas, implementing a comprehensive curfew. Residents are reportedly confined to their homes, with movement severely restricted.

The reasons behind the military action remain unclear, but the siege is raising concerns about access to essential services and potential shortages of supplies within the city. DZWatch is monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as they become available. The impact on the civilian population is a primary concern as the curfew continues.

This latest development adds to the already heightened tensions in the West Bank. The Israeli military has yet to issue an official statement regarding the operation in Tubas. The city’s strategic importance may be a factor in the ongoing military activity.
