Algiers – Algeria and Belarus are set to enhance their educational partnership following a meeting between the Algerian Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, and his Belarusian counterpart, Andrei Ivanovich Ivanets. The meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters in Algiers, concluded with the announcement of a joint working group dedicated to outlining practical steps for implementing collaborative educational initiatives.
The primary objective is to facilitate the exchange of expertise and foster advancements in education within both nations. The discussions centered on potential avenues for bilateral cooperation in the educational sphere, aiming to unlock new partnership opportunities between Algeria and Belarus.
Minister Saadaoui provided a comprehensive overview of the Algerian educational system, emphasizing the government’s ongoing commitment to improving its quality. He underscored Algeria’s dedication to providing compulsory, free, and democratic education, reflecting the state’s social responsibility. Furthermore, he highlighted efforts to strengthen technological education, integrate information and communication technologies, and digitize education in line with modern standards, ultimately aiming to enhance the learning environment in educational institutions.
Minister Ivanets reciprocated by presenting a detailed account of the Belarusian educational system, emphasizing its strengths and technical practices. He elaborated on the continuous teacher training program, which occurs every three years, and explained the curricula designed to nurture students from pre-primary levels. This approach underscores a comprehensive methodology for educational development and the promotion of quality learning from an early age.
As a gesture of goodwill and to further strengthen ties, Minister Saadaoui extended an invitation to his Belarusian counterpart to send a group of Belarusian students to Algeria as part of a twinning program between educational institutions. The program would include visits to scientific clubs, including robotics and environmental clubs, and tours of national higher education institutions, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation between the two countries’ educational systems.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards strengthening educational ties between Algeria and Belarus, promising mutual benefits and advancements in the field of education.
