Gaza City – Two Palestinian civilians were killed and several others injured in Israeli strikes on various areas of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening.
According to local sources, Israeli forces intensified artillery shelling and gunfire targeting residential homes east of the Al-Zaytoun, Al-Shuja’iya, and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods, east of Gaza City.
Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, confirmed that two citizens, including one child, were killed and more than 15 others were injured as a result of Israeli artillery shelling on a residential building in the “Al-Sanafour” area of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Additional injuries were reported following another strike targeting Al-Sikka Street in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of the city. Several casualties, including children and women, were transferred to the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital (Baptist Hospital) after Israeli artillery shelling targeted the Al-Daraj school, which is sheltering displaced persons east of the city.
In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian citizen was injured by Israeli fire in the cemetery area west of Khan Yunis. Israeli forces continue aerial and artillery bombardment in various eastern areas of Khan Yunis and Gaza City.
Since October 7, 2023, the total number of Palestinian casualties in the Gaza Strip has risen to 70,112 killed and 170,986 injured.
