In a distressing update, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported a significant increase in the casualties in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since October 7. The toll now stands at a devastating 2,808 fatalities and a minimum of 10,950 injuries.

In a brief statement released on Monday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that “2,750 citizens have tragically lost their lives, with over 9,700 others sustaining injuries in the Gaza Strip.”

Additionally, the same source revealed that “the number of Palestinian fatalities in the West Bank has reached 58 martyrs, alongside 1,250 injuries” since the conflict’s outbreak on October 7.

The West Bank has been a stage for heightened tensions and ground clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli military. This volatile situation has coincided with the worsening conditions in the Gaza Strip.

For the tenth consecutive day, the Israeli military has been relentlessly targeting the Gaza Strip with intense airstrikes, leading to the devastation of entire neighborhoods and causing thousands of Palestinian civilian casualties.

In the early hours of Saturday, the “Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge” was initiated by Hamas, in collaboration with other Palestinian factions in Gaza, in response to “the continuous assaults by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their property, and places of worship, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli military launched “Operation Iron Swords” and continues to execute extensive airstrikes in numerous areas of the Gaza Strip. Over two million Palestinians in this densely populated region endure deteriorating living conditions, exacerbated by the Israeli blockade in effect since 2006, which has tightened to its maximum during the current conflict.

This dire situation highlights the urgent need for international attention and intervention to end the escalating human suffering in the region.

Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing crisis.
