Algiers, December 4, 2025 – The Council of the Nation (Senate) today overwhelmingly approved the Finance Law for the year 2026.
Following the vote, Minister of Finance Abdelkrim Bouazerd emphasized the importance of implementing the budgets outlined in the law, particularly those concerning citizens, such as public services and planned investments for the upcoming year. Bouazerd stressed that the government is obligated to work efficiently to achieve the set objectives.
During his presentation of the law to the Senate last Tuesday, Bouazerd affirmed that the 2026 Finance Law solidifies the state’s commitment to financing the national economy through significant development-oriented investments targeting various sectors. This initiative is part of a new economic vision based on economic diversification and improved financial performance.
Responding to concerns and inquiries from members of the Council of the Nation, Bouazerd explained that the measures proposed in the law aim to support sustainable growth, improve financing mechanisms, continue structural reforms, and enhance efficiency in resource management.
The approved Finance Law is expected to have a significant impact on Algeria’s economic landscape in the coming year. DZWatch will continue to provide in-depth coverage and analysis of its implementation and its effects on various sectors and the Algerian population.
