Belarusian President Lukashenko Concludes Visit to Algeria

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, concluded a two-day official visit to Algeria on Wednesday. He was seen off at Algiers International Airport by the President of the Council of the Nation, Azzouz Nasseri, and several members of the Algerian government.

President Lukashenko’s visit, which commenced on Tuesday, culminated in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Algeria and Belarus. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune welcomed his Belarusian counterpart, overseeing the formalization of partnerships designed to bolster cooperation across various sectors.

Key agreements reached during the visit include:

  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the Algerian Ministry of Industry and the Belarusian Ministry of Industry, focusing on enhanced collaboration in the industrial sector.
  • An agreement between the governments of Algeria and Belarus concerning cooperation in the field of animal health.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, fostering collaboration in the agricultural domain.

These agreements signal a deepening of ties between Algeria and Belarus, paving the way for increased trade and collaboration in key sectors. The visit underscores both nations’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for mutual benefit.
