Air Algérie to Transform into Holding Company

Algiers – Air Algérie is undergoing a significant organizational restructuring and will transition into a holding company. The move is expected to provide the national airline with numerous advantages under this new legal framework.

Hamza Benhamouda, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Algérie, announced the transformation, highlighting the strategic importance of this change for the company’s future growth and competitiveness. He stated that the restructuring is aimed at streamlining operations, improving efficiency, and fostering innovation within the airline.

According to Mr. Benhamouda, the holding company structure will allow Air Algérie to better manage its various subsidiaries and business units. It will also facilitate access to capital markets and enable the company to pursue strategic partnerships and investments more effectively.

As part of this transformation, Air Algérie is also planning to launch two new subsidiaries early next year. These subsidiaries will focus on ground handling services and aviation training, respectively. The creation of these specialized units is intended to enhance the quality of services provided to passengers and to develop a highly skilled workforce for the airline industry.

“This transformation is a crucial step in our efforts to modernize Air Algérie and position it as a leading airline in the region,” Mr. Benhamouda emphasized. “We are confident that the holding company structure will provide us with the flexibility and agility needed to thrive in the ever-changing aviation landscape.”

The move to a holding company structure reflects Air Algérie’s commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency and improving its overall financial performance. The airline aims to leverage this new structure to expand its network, upgrade its fleet, and enhance the passenger experience.

The planned launch of the ground handling and training subsidiaries signals a strategic focus on improving service quality and investing in human capital. These initiatives are expected to contribute to the long-term sustainability and success of Air Algérie.
