Algiers, November 5, 2025 – Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjjal, chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials from Sonelgaz, the national electricity and gas company, to evaluate the performance of the energy sector during the summer of 2025 and strategize for the upcoming summer of 2026. The meeting took place yesterday at the Ministry headquarters.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the discussions focused on a comprehensive review of Sonelgaz’s operations throughout the summer season, identifying areas of success and challenges encountered. This assessment aims to inform proactive measures to enhance service delivery and infrastructure resilience in anticipation of increased energy demand during the summer of 2026.
