Air Algérie to Transform into Holding Company Structure

Algiers, December 4, 2025 – Air Algérie is undergoing a significant organizational restructuring, transitioning into a holding company structure. This strategic move is expected to provide the national airline with numerous operational and fiscal advantages.

According to a statement, the restructuring includes the establishment of two new subsidiaries dedicated to ground services and aviation training. These new entities, named Air Algérie Ground Operation and the Aviation Academy, are slated to commence operations in January 2026. These additions will bolster existing subsidiaries such as the catering, cargo, Amadeus Algeria, and Domestic Airlines divisions.

“The company is moving towards a structural reorganization into a holding company, which will provide it with tax and operational advantages resulting from this legal form,” stated a company representative. This shift will also see the maintenance division transformed into an independent subsidiary, alongside the creation of a new entity focused on organizing tourist flights.

The airline aims to capitalize on its extensive experience and expertise in various aviation professions, which have been recognized by international certification bodies and professional organizations. Air Algérie is a member of several of these prestigious groups.

The goal is to leverage this wealth of experience and professionalism through a process that involves transforming activities into specialized subsidiaries. This approach aims to improve performance, share risks and costs, and optimize operations across the board.

This organizational shift reflects Air Algérie’s commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency and competitiveness within the global aviation market.
