Gaza Death Toll Soars Amid Ongoing Conflict

Gaza City, DZWatch – The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports that the death toll in Gaza has tragically climbed to 70,125 since the escalation of conflict began on October 7, 2023. Over 171,015 individuals have been injured, the majority of whom are women and children.

According to health officials, hospitals across the Gaza Strip received 8 deceased and 16 injured individuals in the past 24 hours alone. Rescue efforts are severely hampered, with an unknown number of victims still trapped beneath the rubble, inaccessible to emergency responders.

Even following the ceasefire agreement in October, the violence continues to claim lives. Since the agreement, 366 people have been killed and 938 injured. Rescue teams have recovered 619 bodies in that time, the Ministry of Health stated. The situation remains dire, with limited access to medical supplies and essential resources.

The ongoing conflict has created a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with the healthcare system struggling to cope with the immense pressure. International aid organizations are calling for increased humanitarian assistance and a lasting resolution to the conflict to prevent further loss of life and suffering.

DZWatch will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
