Severe Weather Alert Issued for Northern Algeria

Algiers, November 6, 2025 – A severe weather alert has been issued for several northern provinces of Algeria, with forecasts predicting heavy rainfall and strong winds throughout the day.

The National Meteorology Office has warned residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions. The alert specifically highlights the provinces of Algiers and Tipaza, where strong winds are expected to be particularly intense.

In addition to strong winds, heavy rainfall is anticipated across a wide swathe of northern Algeria. Provinces under the heavy rainfall warning include Sidi Bel Abbes, Souk Ahras, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bejaia, Mila, Oum El Bouaghi, Guelma, Tizi Ouzou, Annaba, Setif, Ain Temouchent, Tlemcen, Constantine, Skikda, Jijel, El Tarf, Saida, Bouira, and Mascara.

The meteorological office indicated that the heavy rainfall is expected to begin around 9:00 AM and continue until midnight. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall or strong winds.
