Civil Protection Intervenes Amidst Weather Volatility

Civil Protection units have been actively responding to the effects of recent weather fluctuations across several provinces, according to a statement released by the General Directorate of Civil Protection today. Emergency interventions were ongoing as of 3 PM local time.

Tizi Ouzou: In Tizi Ouzou, Civil Protection teams successfully rescued three individuals trapped in the Oued Sebaou riverbed near Timizar Loghbar. Rising water levels had stranded the group. The rescue operation involved the specialized search and rescue unit for difficult terrain and an air rescue helicopter.

Skikda: In Skikda province, a four-meter concrete wall separating a residential building and an abandoned warehouse collapsed. Authorities reported no casualties as a result of the incident.

Bejaia: Civil Protection teams in Bejaia were engaged in pumping rainwater from flooded underground garages in the Boujloud district, as well as at four road junctions, the 140-housing district, and the 300-housing district. They also worked to remove standing water from the road leading to the industrial activity zone and from a car parts store in the 300-housing area.

Annaba: In Annaba, Civil Protection units pumped rainwater from a ground-floor residence in the El Khoualed area of the Es-Snam municipality.

The General Directorate of Civil Protection emphasized that monitoring and intervention efforts are continuing in the affected regions. Citizens are urged to exercise caution while traveling and to remain vigilant in light of the unstable weather conditions.
