Constantine, Algeria – Authorities in Constantine have seized a significant quantity of hallucinogenic substances, marking a major blow against drug trafficking in the region.
On November 6, 2025, the regional detachment of the National Gendarmerie in Ouled Rahmoune, part of the Constantine group, apprehended a 35-year-old individual suspected of transporting and possessing psychotropic substances, specifically Pregabalin 300mg, with the intent to distribute.
According to a statement released by the security services, the operation was initiated following intelligence indicating the movement of a substantial amount of Pregabalin 300mg pills. The narcotics were reportedly being transported in a private vehicle traveling from Ouargla towards a neighboring province.
Law enforcement intercepted and searched the vehicle. During the search, a large quantity of psychotropic substances was discovered, carefully concealed within the vehicle.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the confiscation of 11,700 capsules of Pregabalin 300mg. Pregabalin is a prescription drug often misused for its hallucinogenic effects.
The suspect will be presented before the competent judicial authorities upon completion of the ongoing investigation. This seizure highlights the continued efforts of Algerian law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and protect communities from the harmful effects of substance abuse.
