Chief of Staff Offers Condolences After Deadly Bus Accident

Beni Abbes, Algeria – General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, has extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of a tragic bus accident that occurred in the municipality of Tabelbala, Beni Abbes province. The message was conveyed on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the entire People’s National Army.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, General Chengriha expressed his profound sorrow upon learning of the devastating road accident that took place on Saturday evening, December 6, 2025. The accident, involving a passenger bus, resulted in the loss of 14 lives, including two members of the People’s National Army, and left several others injured.

The Chief of Staff conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families, praying for the deceased to be granted eternal peace and for the injured to make a swift recovery. He emphasized the unwavering solidarity of the military institution with the families during this difficult time.

“In this moment of profound grief, the People’s National Army stands shoulder to shoulder with the families affected by this tragedy,” the statement noted. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this painful experience.”

The message of condolence concluded with the traditional expression of sympathy: “Indeed, to God we belong, and to Him we shall return.”
