In response to the Israeli occupation’s atrocities in Gaza, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call this morning from the British State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lord Tariq Ahmed.

According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on the latest developments in the besieged Gaza Strip. Minister Ahmed briefed his British counterpart on the efforts made by Algeria to de-escalate the situation and allow for humanitarian corridors.

In addition to emphasizing the urgent need to halt the aggression and provide relief to the Palestinian people, the Algerian diplomat stressed the importance of reviving the political process to address the core of the conflict and enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, this call served as an opportunity to review upcoming bilateral commitments, including the second round of strategic dialogue between the two countries scheduled for mid-November. They also exchanged views on developments in the Sahel-Sahara region, particularly the crises in Mali and Niger.
