A devastating bus accident in the Beni Abbes province has resulted in the deaths of 12 people and left 23 others injured, according to initial reports from the General Directorate of Civil Protection. The accident occurred on Saturday along National Route 50, in the municipality and district of Tabelbala, Beni Abbes province.
The bus, which was traveling the Tindouf-Bechar route, overturned, causing significant casualties. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Civil Protection units from Beni Abbes deployed two ambulances and two trucks, while an additional three ambulances were sent from Bechar province to assist in the rescue and evacuation efforts. The injured were transported to local medical facilities for treatment. Those in critical condition are being evacuated to the hospital in Abadla, Bechar province.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. This incident underscores the importance of road safety and vigilance while traveling.
