West Bank Clashes Erupt Amid Israeli Raids, Settlement Expansion

Tensions remain high in the West Bank as clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli forces following a series of raids across several towns. The Israeli military reportedly used live ammunition and sound grenades during the operations.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces entered Beit Furik, east of Nablus, triggering confrontations and gunfire. Similar clashes broke out in Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, where sound grenades were deployed. While no injuries were reported, several homes were raided and searched, although no arrests were made.

Further military activity was reported in Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, as well as in ad-Dhahiriya city and Beit Ummar town in Hebron. In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces conducted raids in Silat al-Harithiya, Qabatiya, and Burqin, located west and south of Jenin. Illumination flares were launched in Tuqu’ town, and a raid was also carried out in Beit Fajjar, near Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, Al-Baydar Organization for Defending Bedouin Rights reported the demolition of a residential structure belonging to the Dawood al-Baaran family in the “ad-Duyuk at-Tahta” area, west of Jericho. Additionally, Palestinian land in Al-Minyya village, near Kisan, east of Bethlehem, was reportedly targeted by settlers who plowed the land as part of ongoing settlement expansion efforts.

Since the start of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023, Israeli actions in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have intensified. According to Palestinian statistics, these actions have resulted in the deaths of over 1092 Palestinians, with approximately 11,000 injured and over 18,000 detained.

The situation remains volatile as both sides grapple with escalating tensions and the ongoing expansion of settlements.
