Algeria Explores Pharmaceutical Investment Opportunities in Oman

Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouideri, has explored potential investment partnerships in the Omani pharmaceutical sector during a recent visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The visit aims to forge a strategic alliance that strengthens collaboration between key players in both Algeria and Oman.

Minister Kouideri’s itinerary included a meeting with Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, and Mohammed Al Habsi, CEO of Oman Investment Bank. Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation within the pharmaceutical industries and expanding avenues for joint investment. The talks highlighted the mutual interest in fostering stronger economic ties through strategic partnerships in this vital sector.

Furthermore, the Minister undertook a field visit to gain firsthand insight into Oman’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities. This included a tour of the ‘Minapharm’ pharmaceutical factory in the Rusayl Industrial Estate, as well as visits to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) and the National Pharmaceutical Industries Company (NPI). During these visits, Minister Kouideri received detailed briefings on the production capacities of the Omani pharmaceutical industry and the investment opportunities available to bolster collaboration between the two nations.

These engagements underscore Algeria’s commitment to diversifying its pharmaceutical partnerships and leveraging international expertise to strengthen its domestic industry. The potential collaboration with Omani pharmaceutical manufacturers could lead to increased technology transfer, expanded market access, and enhanced pharmaceutical production capabilities within Algeria. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to promote economic diversification and attract foreign investment in key sectors.
