Algiers – Algeria is witnessing a surge in innovative startups that are spearheading the nation’s digital transformation and bolstering its knowledge-based economy. This was highlighted at the recent African Startup Forum, where Algerian companies showcased their advancements and forged strategic international partnerships.

The fourth edition of the African Startup Forum concluded with resounding success, affirming Algeria’s leadership in the burgeoning tech sector. Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, Nourredine Ouahdi, along with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Yacine Mahdi Oualid, and the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nassima Arahab, attended the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering innovation.

One notable success story is ‘Shams Nat‘, an Algerian startup established in 2024 that has rapidly become a leader in mobile phone charging services. Led by Ismail Nasr Eddine, the company has established a strong presence in the digital market and received the ‘Label’ certification for innovation and knowledge creation. Shams Nat boasts a monthly turnover of approximately 80 million Algerian dinars, reflecting its robust economic activity.

Nasr Eddine emphasized that ‘Shams Nat‘ provides innovative technical solutions and collaborates strategically with various partners through commercial agreements to promote their products. This reflects the company’s vision of building an integrated network of national and international partnerships. He also noted the importance of Shams Nat’s participation in the fourth edition of the African Startup Forum, stating it was important for networking and visibility.

The success of Algerian startups like ‘Shams Nat‘ underscores the country’s potential to become a regional hub for technological innovation and economic growth.
