Algiers – Algeria has reaffirmed its leading role in African innovation following the successful conclusion of the fourth edition of the African Conference on Emerging Enterprises. The event, held at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, witnessed record attendance from African delegations, international organizations, and a distinguished group of young entrepreneurs and innovators from across the continent.
The closing day featured a dynamic range of activities, including a summit of ministers and entrepreneurs, specialized workshops on agricultural technology, the circular economy, and future skills. Bilateral meetings and dialogue sessions aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange within the African innovation ecosystem were also highlights.
The conference marked a significant economic milestone with the conclusion of an investment funding deal exceeding one million dollars for an Algerian startup. Several partnership agreements and open innovation deals were also signed between startups and local and international economic operators, reflecting growing confidence in the Algerian entrepreneurial environment.
During the closing ceremony, the overall results of the specialized committee work and the outcomes of the ministerial summit were presented. Awards were then given to the winners of the various competitions held throughout the conference, recognizing innovative projects and promising entrepreneurial ideas.
