Algiers Cable Car Service Temporarily Suspended for Maintenance

Algiers, Algeria – The Algiers Directorate of Transportation has announced a temporary suspension of service for the Martyr’s Memorial cable car, effective today, Tuesday, December 9th, until Thursday, December 11th. The suspension is due to scheduled routine maintenance on the cable car’s safety systems.

According to a statement released by the Directorate, the cable car service is expected to resume on Friday, December 12th, pending successful completion of safety tests. Passengers are advised that the resumption of service is contingent upon these tests, and any unforeseen changes will be communicated to the public promptly.

The Martyr’s Memorial cable car, a popular tourist attraction, provides panoramic views of the capital city. This periodic maintenance is crucial to ensuring the continued safety and reliability of the transportation system. The Directorate of Transportation apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause.

DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. Passengers are encouraged to check for official announcements before planning their trips. This brief interruption is part of an ongoing effort to maintain the highest safety standards for all public transportation services in Algiers.
