ANP Operations Showcase Readiness, Deter Crime

Algiers – Recent operations conducted by the People’s National Army (ANP) underscore the unwavering readiness and vigilance of its units across Algeria. These operations, spanning from December 3rd to 9th, 2025, demonstrate the high level of professionalism and preparedness maintained by the Algerian Armed Forces in safeguarding national security.

In the ongoing fight against terrorism, ANP detachments have continued their targeted operations against remnants of terrorist organizations. During the reported period, ten support elements were apprehended in separate operations across various regions. These arrests highlight the effectiveness of intelligence gathering and field operations aimed at dismantling the logistical support networks of extremist groups, thereby bolstering overall security and stability.

The ANP has also intensified its efforts against organized crime, particularly drug trafficking. Joint operations, conducted in coordination with other security agencies, dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating along the western borders. These operations resulted in the arrest of 59 drug traffickers and the seizure of 26.15 tons of processed cannabis originating from the Moroccan border. Additionally, 19 kilograms of cocaine and 658,455 psychotropic tablets were seized, marking one of the largest operations aimed at disrupting smuggling routes and eliminating the sources of narcotics that target Algerian youth and society.

These results, achieved within a single week, demonstrate the robustness of the security approach adopted by the ANP in combating terrorism and organized crime. This approach is characterized by proactive measures, constant vigilance, and strategic deployment across the national territory. The ANP remains committed to protecting the nation and its citizens, continuing to fulfill its duties with efficiency and competence.
