DZWatch Exclusive: December 11, 2025 – The Ministry of National Education has announced a nationwide recruitment drive for teachers across primary, middle, and secondary education levels. The initiative aims to fill thousands of vacant positions through a qualifications-based selection process.
According to a statement released by the Ministry today, the recruitment will focus on the following positions: Primary School Teacher (First Category) – 11,831 positions; Middle School Teacher (First Category) – 18,929 positions; and Secondary School Teacher (First Category) – 9,740 positions.
The application process, including registration and document submission, will be conducted exclusively online. The online portal opened following the initial announcement in the print media.
Applicants are required to register and submit their documents through the National Office for Examinations and Competitions’ digital platform. The Ministry emphasized that the entire process, from application to final ranking, will be managed through the Ministry’s information system. Candidate ranking will be automated, based on the information provided and verified against submitted documents.
Crucially, the Ministry clarified that teachers currently employed on a contractual basis for the 2025/2026 academic year are eligible and encouraged to participate in this recruitment drive. Their current contracts will remain valid until the end of the current academic year.
This massive recruitment effort signifies the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the national education system and ensuring quality teaching across all levels.
