Ouargla – A major criminal network involved in international smuggling and illicit trafficking of psychotropic substances has been dismantled in Ouargla by the Regional Service for Combating Organized Crime (SRLCO). The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including two foreign nationals.
According to a statement released by National Security, the operation, conducted at the end of last month under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, led to the seizure of 665,550 capsules of the psychotropic substance “Pregabalin,” an AK-47 assault rifle equipped with a magazine containing 27 rounds, two hunting rifles and ammunition, two daytime binoculars, sensitive communication devices, and 96 units of fireworks.
Vehicles Used in Criminal Activities Seized
Security forces also seized several vehicles used in the network’s criminal activities. The network had been using a farm located in the vicinity of Ouargla as a storage facility for the psychotropic substances.
