DZWatch Exclusive: A wave of unstable weather patterns is impacting several Arab nations, prompting official warnings and urgent safety measures. The volatile conditions, coinciding with the start of winter, include heavy rainfall, snowfall, and dense fog, posing significant challenges to communities across the region.

The affected countries include Palestine, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Morocco. Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and remain updated on the latest weather advisories.

In Palestine, the situation is particularly dire. Recent reports indicate fatalities in Gaza due to building collapses caused by heavy rains. Tragically, a baby also died due to the cold and flooding of their tent in Khan Yunis. Several buildings, housing displaced Palestinians, have collapsed in Gaza City after days of relentless downpours.

Oman’s meteorological authorities have issued a warning regarding low clouds and fog formation in several governorates, including South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, Dhofar, and desert regions of Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah. These conditions are expected during the night and early morning hours.

Qatar’s weather service has cautioned about the potential for thunderstorms and strong winds on Friday. Thursday saw relatively cool temperatures and lingering dust in some areas of the country.
