Tunis, December 12, 2025 – The Prime Minister of Tunisia, Ms. Sarah Zaafarani, lauded Algeria’s sweeping structural and institutional reforms during a statement made in Tunis earlier today. Ms. Zaafarani emphasized the significance of these changes, spearheaded by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the stability and prosperity of the region.
Speaking at a press briefing following discussions related to the Algerian-Tunisian Joint High Commission for Cooperation, the Prime Minister highlighted the depth and breadth of the reforms currently underway in Algeria. She noted that these initiatives are not merely superficial adjustments, but rather fundamental shifts designed to modernize the Algerian economy and strengthen its governance structures.
“We are observing with great interest the transformative changes taking place in Algeria,” Ms. Zaafarani stated. “These reforms demonstrate a clear commitment to progress and development, and we believe they will have a positive impact not only on Algeria but on the entire North African region.”
The Prime Minister further elaborated on the potential for enhanced cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia as a result of these reforms. She expressed optimism that the strengthened Algerian economy would create new opportunities for trade and investment, benefiting both nations. The Joint High Commission, she noted, provides a crucial platform for fostering collaboration across a wide range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
Ms. Zaafarani concluded her remarks by reaffirming Tunisia’s commitment to working closely with Algeria to advance shared interests and promote regional stability. She expressed her confidence that the ongoing reforms in Algeria would contribute significantly to achieving these goals.
