Road Accidents Claim Lives, Injure Many Across Algeria

Tragedy struck on Algerian roads in the last 24 hours, with traffic accidents resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to 180 others across various regions of the country.

According to the Civil Protection Directorate, their units responded to a total of 2,750 incidents within the same 24-hour period, averaging one intervention every 31 seconds. Of these interventions, 145 were related to road accidents, sadly leading to the reported fatalities and injuries.

DZWatch has learned that the Civil Protection units also responded to eight incidents involving carbon monoxide poisoning, resulting in 25 cases of poisoning and one fatality. Authorities are urging citizens to ensure proper ventilation and maintenance of heating systems, especially during the colder months.
