UNGA Demands End to Restrictions on Aid to Gaza

New York, December 13, 2025 – The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has adopted a resolution demanding an immediate end to all restrictions imposed on the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The resolution, passed on Friday, calls upon the occupying power to ensure full and unimpeded humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip, allowing vital assistance to reach the civilian population. It emphasizes the urgent need for food, medical supplies, and other essential resources to be delivered without delay.

The resolution also stresses the importance of respecting the inviolability of UN premises and personnel operating in the region. It reminds all parties of their obligations under international law, including the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers in conflict zones.

The move comes amid growing concerns over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, where a large percentage of the population is reliant on international aid. The resolution highlights the severe impact of the ongoing restrictions on the lives and well-being of ordinary Palestinians.

The UNGA’s demand represents a significant step towards alleviating the suffering of the people of Gaza and underscores the international community’s commitment to upholding humanitarian principles. It remains to be seen how the occupying power will respond to this call, but the resolution sends a clear message that the world is watching and expects immediate action to address the crisis.

The resolution further urges all parties to work towards a lasting and peaceful resolution to the conflict, based on international law and relevant UN resolutions. It reaffirms the commitment of the United Nations to supporting the Palestinian people and promoting a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
