DZWatch Exclusive: Several national roads have been closed due to heavy snowfall, according to the National Gendarmerie. Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
The National Gendarmerie reported that the following routes are currently impassable:
In Bouira, National Route 33 is closed between Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, specifically in the areas of Tikjda (Asnam municipality) and Akouker (Bechloul municipality), due to significant snow accumulation.
Similarly, in Tizi Ouzou, National Route 33, which connects Tizi Ouzou and Bouira, is closed near Assoul in the Ait Boumahdi municipality, also due to heavy snowfall.
Authorities have confirmed that other roads remain open at this time. However, drivers are strongly urged to be vigilant and aware of the dangers of driving in snowy conditions. It is imperative to reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance, and use appropriate lighting.
