Annaba Police Dismantle Drug Trafficking Ring, Seize 68kg of Cannabis

Annaba police have successfully dismantled an organized criminal network involved in drug trafficking, dealing a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region. The operation, conducted by the judicial police of the Annaba security directorate, culminated in the seizure of a substantial quantity of processed cannabis and the arrest of several suspects.

Acting on intelligence gathered through meticulous field investigations, law enforcement officials raided a residence located in a western residential district of the province. The raid resulted in the confiscation of 68.8 kilograms of processed cannabis (kif) that was being stored at the property. Five individuals, believed to be key members of the trafficking network, were apprehended during the operation.

The investigation revealed that the network was actively engaged in the widespread distribution and sale of narcotics throughout the area. In addition to the cannabis seizure, authorities also recovered:

  • 210 psychotropic tablets
  • 224 million centimes in proceeds from drug sales
  • Four vehicles used in the transportation and distribution of narcotics

The suspects have been presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Annaba Court, where they will face charges related to drug trafficking and other associated crimes.
