DZWatch Exclusive: Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui, chaired a weekly meeting at the ministry headquarters on Sunday to assess the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects and evaluate proposed strategic projects for funding and digitization.
The meeting featured detailed presentations on several major projects underway across vital sectors. Key among these was the expansion project at the Annaba port, which includes the construction of a mining pier as part of the integrated phosphate project. Discussions also centered on the eastern mining railway line connecting Annaba to Bled El Hadba in Tebessa province, a distance of 422 kilometers, and projects focused on developing the road network, highway access points, and essential airport infrastructure.
Minister Djellaoui emphasized the critical need for intensified on-site monitoring by central government personnel. He also stressed the importance of continuous coordination with construction companies to proactively address any obstacles hindering progress. The goal, he stated, is to accelerate the pace of work and ensure adherence to project deadlines.
Furthermore, Djellaoui issued directives mandating close collaboration with all relevant sectors to guarantee the timely completion of major strategic projects. He underscored the importance of a unified approach to overcome logistical and bureaucratic hurdles that could potentially delay the projects.
DZWatch will continue to provide updates on the progress of these crucial infrastructure developments.
