Algeria and India Explore Enhanced Investment Cooperation

Algiers, December 14, 2025 – The Director-General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Mr. Omar Rekkache, held discussions today in Algiers with the Ambassador of India to Algeria, Ms. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, focusing on strengthening economic and investment ties between the two nations.

According to a statement released by AAPI, the meeting served as a platform to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Both parties expressed a strong commitment to fostering a more dynamic and mutually beneficial investment climate.

‘This meeting underscores the shared desire of Algeria and India to elevate their economic partnership,’ noted an AAPI spokesperson. ‘We are actively seeking to identify and capitalize on opportunities that will attract Indian investment to Algeria and vice-versa.’

The discussions reportedly covered a range of potential collaborations, including but not limited to renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and agriculture. Both Mr. Rekkache and Ambassador Kulkarni highlighted the importance of creating a conducive regulatory environment to facilitate smoother investment flows and encourage greater participation from private sector entities.
