ANP Reinforces Health Sovereignty with Blood Transfusion Center

Algiers – The People’s National Army (ANP) is further solidifying its commitment to health sovereignty with the inauguration of the seventh annual Blood Transfusion Center event. The event, held at the Army’s Ain Naadja club, was overseen by Major General Souid Mohamed El Bachir, Central Director of Military Health Services for the Ministry of National Defense.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking military officials, including brigade generals and colonels, as well as directors of health units and specialized civilian and military doctors representing various hospital structures.

Major General Souid Mohamed El Bachir emphasized in his opening address that this scientific gathering aligns with the strategic vision of the ANP High Command. This vision places health security at the core of the national security system, recognizing it as a crucial element in maintaining the operational readiness of the armed forces, both in peacetime and during emergencies and crises.

The Central Director of Military Health Services highlighted that the ANP’s Blood Transfusion Center serves as a cornerstone of the military health system. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and consistent supply of blood products and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to army personnel, whether at their workplaces, in the field, or during exceptional operations.

The seventh medical event featured a series of scientific lectures and specialized interventions. These sessions focused on strategically important technical topics, including blood vigilance, quality control of blood products, stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, and the polymorphism of red blood cells in immunohematology. Presenters noted that these topics reflect the military institution’s focus on strengthening health sovereignty and promoting reliance on scientific research and specialization.

This initiative underscores the ANP’s dedication to providing comprehensive healthcare and ensuring the well-being of its personnel, contributing to the overall strength and readiness of the nation’s armed forces.
