Algiers’ public transport operator, ETUSA, has announced the launch of a new bus route and the extension of an existing one, aiming to improve public transportation services for residents of the capital and its suburbs. This initiative follows directives from the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saayoud.
The new route will connect the Ahmed Faoussi neighborhood in Rouiba to the 2 Mai station in Tafourah. The service commenced today, Monday, providing a direct link between several vital areas of Algiers, including Rouiba and Bab Ezzouar.
According to an ETUSA statement, the first departure from Ahmed Faoussi in Rouiba is scheduled for 6:00 AM, heading towards the 2 Mai station in Tafourah. The last departure from the 2 Mai station back to Ahmed Faoussi is set for 6:00 PM.
Furthermore, ETUSA has announced the extension of the night bus route number 72. This route, which previously connected Place des Martyrs to Rouiba, will now extend to the Ahmed Faoussi neighborhood in Rouiba. The extension is intended to bolster transportation services during the night and better cater to the needs of nighttime travelers.
These changes represent a significant effort by ETUSA to enhance the accessibility and convenience of public transport within Algiers, addressing the growing demand for efficient and reliable transportation options for its citizens.
