National Security Dismantles 32 Cyber Fraud Networks

Algiers – In a significant operation highlighting the increasing efforts to combat cybercrime, Algerian National Security services have dismantled 32 criminal networks involved in online fraud and scams. The operation, conducted across multiple provinces, led to the arrest of numerous individuals and exposed sophisticated methods used to target citizens.

Authorities confirmed the dismantling of 32 organized criminal networks, including one with international links originating in an Asian country. Five members of this international network were apprehended within Algeria.

Investigations resulted in the arrest of 197 individuals suspected of involvement in electronic fraud. Among those arrested, 31 were already subject to arrest warrants issued by judicial authorities for previous fraud-related offenses.

Forensic analysis of seized digital data revealed that these criminal networks employed advanced techniques to deceive victims. These included social engineering, phishing, and the use of malware to steal sensitive information. The criminals also impersonated public and private companies to gain the trust of their targets.

This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the National Security services to combat cybercrime, protect citizens from online fraud, and enhance the security of the digital space.
