DZWatch is issuing a severe weather alert for several regions across Algeria. Expect significant weather disturbances today, including heavy thunderstorms and substantial snowfall in certain areas. Hail is also possible in some locations.
A special weather bulletin indicates that locally heavy thunderstorms, potentially exceeding 70mm of rainfall and accompanied by hail, are expected to continue until at least 9:00 AM tomorrow, Thursday, in the provinces of El Bayadh, Laghouat, and Tiaret.
Another bulletin forecasts locally significant thunderstorms, with rainfall potentially reaching 40mm and accompanied by hail, from midday today, Wednesday, until 9:00 AM tomorrow, Thursday, in the provinces of Saïda, El Menia, and Ghardaia.
Heavy snowfall is anticipated in areas above 1000 meters, with accumulations potentially reaching 20cm, until 3:00 AM tomorrow, Thursday, in the provinces of Tiaret, El Bayadh, and Laghouat.
Furthermore, heavy snowfall is also expected in higher altitudes exceeding 1000 meters, with accumulations up to 10cm, from 6:00 AM today, Wednesday, until 11:00 PM tonight, in the provinces of Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saïda, and Naâma.
Locally significant thunderstorms are also predicted from midday today, Wednesday, until dawn tomorrow, Thursday, in the provinces of Naâma, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, Mascara, Relizane, and Djelfa.
Finally, expect locally significant thunderstorms from midnight until dawn tomorrow, Thursday, in the southern and southeastern provinces, including In Salah, Illizi, Ouargla, Touggourt, El Oued, El M’Ghair, Biskra, Batna, Khenchela, and Tebessa.
