Algiers – The deadline for registering for the Brevet d’Enseignement Moyen (BEM) and Baccalaureate exams for the 2026 session is today, December 17, 2025. The Ministry of National Education has confirmed that no further extensions will be granted.
Registrations are being conducted exclusively online via the Ministry’s information system and the websites of the National Office for Examinations and Competitions (ONEC). No paper documents are required.
According to a statement from the ministry, all students enrolled in public and private educational institutions, along with their parents, and independent candidates are eligible to register. The registration period commenced on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, and concludes at midnight tonight.
The registration process involves completing an electronic form available on the Ministry of National Education’s information system and the ONEC websites. The ministry emphasizes that registration procedures vary depending on the candidate’s status.
For enrolled students, registration is handled internally by their respective educational institutions through the digital platform of the Ministry of National Education. School principals are responsible for registering eligible students for both exams.
Independent candidates must register by completing the electronic form on the ONEC websites. The website https://bem.onec.dz is dedicated to the BEM exam, while https://bac.onec.dz is designated for the Baccalaureate exam.
Each candidate is required to create a personal account. This account will be used for paying registration fees, reviewing personal data, downloading examination summons, and accessing results.
For enrolled students, the information system automatically generates a personal account for each student, including a username and password. Parents can access account information through the parents’ portal at https://awlyaa.education.dz or through the school administration.
The Ministry urges all eligible candidates to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid any complications. Candidates are advised to double-check all entered information for accuracy.
